Judge Iadanza was appointed by Governor James Florio to the Superior Court of New Jersey and was sworn in on October 19, 1992

Judge Eugene A. Iadanza (Ret.) served as a Judge for over twenty years.  During the time of his tenure, he served as the Presiding Judge of the Family Court in both Monmouth and Mercer Counties.  His practice is devoted to the successful mediation and arbitration of matrimonial cases.  During his career, he has settled and/or decided thousands of cases and he has a clear understanding of the correct approach for the expeditious resolution of each unique situation.

Judge Eugene A. Iadanza joined the firm of The Law Office of Timothy F. McGoughran, LLC, as of counsel on January 1, 2013.  Prior to that time he served as a Superior Court Judge in Monmouth and Mercer Counties.  He attended Monmouth College, graduating in 1970 with a B.A. in Government and History; and the Georgetown University Law Center, receiving his Juris Doctorate in 1973.  After twenty years of private practice in the field of governmental law where he presented numerous Monmouth County municipalities, school boards and zoning and planning boards, Judge Iadanza was appointed by Governor James Florio to the Superior Court of New Jersey and was sworn in on October 19, 1992.

Judge  Iadanza has served in all divisions of the Superior Court, first assigned to the Civil Division from October 1992 to May 1993 and then to the Criminal Part from 1993 to 1994.   He returned for a second assignment in the Civil Division from 1995-1996 before commencing his sixteen (16) years of service in the Family Park from 1996 until his retirement.  During this time, he served as the Presiding Judge of the Family Part in both Monmouth and Mercer Counties.

In addition, Judge Iadanza, is an AOC Rule 1:40 Approved Mediator for Economic Aspects of Family Law Cases.  He has served on the New Jersey State Bar Association Family Law Section’s Executive Committee from 2002 to the present; the New Jersey Superior Court Family Practice Committee from 2004-2010 and the New Jersey Council on Juvenile Justice System Improvements from 2004 to the present time.

Judge Iadanza has been awarded the prestigious 2016 Serpentelli Award from the New Jersey State Bar Association Family Law Section for lifetime contributions to the advancement of family law by a  member of the Judiciary in the State of New Jersey.

Judge Iadanza has lectured throughout the State on various matrimonial law issues at the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education’s New Jersey Family Law Symposium and at the annual New Jersey Judicial College. His practice is limited to mediation and arbitration of matrimonial cases upon referral as well as appointment by the Courts.
